Happy Monday!

On Friday I made the confession that I’m a geek, (you can read about it here) and I started telling you about an essential oils supplier that I found. I didn’t want to take over your whole Friday, so I promised I’d come back today with the details.

I found Plant Therapy a few weeks ago, and was immediately impressed with their prices. The information on their website made me feel pretty confident in the purity of their oils as well.  So, I contacted them to ask if they would like to provide a sample in exchange for a review. I was very pleased with the quick response, as well as their generosity. They didn’t send samples, they sent two full size bottles. I had mentioned that on my blog, I teach about fighting depression and anxiety, so they sent Anti-Anxiety and Blues Buster. These are synergies; blends of different oils to meet a specific need.

I can’t really give you any black-and- white, highly objective feedback on my experience with the oils. Emotions are a difficult thing to measure. It’s not like a fever. One night recently, I was able to bring Josiah’s fever down by 2 whole degrees in 20 minutes by applying peppermint oil to the bottoms of his feet! (That’s a post for another day but that little drop of oil saved us a trip to the emergency room. So, if you think oils are expensive, keep that in mind.)

I do digress.

So sorry.

I’m certain there’s an oil for that.

So, emotions are difficult to measure. But I will tell you this. I’ve experienced several events over the last two weeks that might normally have thrown me into a deep sense of sadness or anxiety, maybe even a panic attack. With each event, I simply smelled the appropriate oil synergy repeatedly over the course of an hour or two. I have no idea if that’s what I was supposed to do, but it seemed to do me some good. What I found is that I didn’t slip nearly as far as I normally could have.

Again, I can’t be sure that the oils helped me stay away from what I call “the dark cloud”. But I do know that essential oils are amazingly complex and have been proven to be healing for the body and mind. I was thankful to have them.

I’d like to thank Plant Therapy for sending me these two synergies to try.
