I don’t know about you, but I love this time of year. I love the restful time between Christmas and New Year’s, and the hopeful excitement of beginning another new year. I actually enjoy sitting down and planning out my goals for the new year. They may change as I go along, but I enjoy the process of planning for a great year.

I’m still working on my goals for the year. I’ve been a little bit busy getting my new site up and running. But one thing I know for sure is that I will be focusing on my health this year. Between fighting depression, struggling with Adrenal Fatigue, and just plain getting older, I need to be as proactive as possible. God still has a lot for me to do, so I need to be healthy and live my life’s purpose with passion.

Some of them may not be something you want/need to work on. For example, the challenge for October is to cut back on caffeine. I drink very little caffeine, so I’ll choose another focus area for that month. You can do the same, but be careful not to skip a focus area because you just don’t want to do it. Sometimes the ones you want to do the least are the ones you need the most. (Because you’ve been so successfully avoiding it so far!) Incidentally, I think the focus area for July is more for our personal growth, Crystal already reads over 100 books per year!

The focus area for this month is getting regular exercise. I love that because exercise is one of my most important focus areas for this year.

Here’s my goal for this month’s challenge:

Exercise for at least 20 minutes, 5 times per week. This is in addition to any physical activity that comes along with normal life. I hope to do more but I want my stated goal to be very doable. Success breeds success, so start with something you know you can do.

I don’t have an exact schedule worked out, nor do I know for sure what type of exercise I’ll do. I’ll be experimenting with some different times of day as well as programs to see which fit my schedule and personality the best. That will be my job this week;  making the decisions and getting the routine in place.
